COLUMBUS is a very large machining center for machining parts / three-dimensional models in 1: 1 scale such as yachts, trains, aircraft fuselages and other similar. A large machining center which offers an high precision and high accuracy of the finishes. The machine consists of a fixed structure with robust lateral colonnade with openings at the beginning and at the end to let the piece enter inside to be machined.

Description
The machine is equipped with a very long Z-axis (vertical axis) to allow the machining of very tall pieces: at the bottom of this sturdy axle a liquid cooling spindle motor is mounted. The machine is equipped with 5 axis ± infinity rotation so it is able to star cutting from a spot and never stop working until the processing is done with enormous time savings given the large surfaces to be processed.
